Monteiths Brewing Co
New Zealand
The legend that we now know as Monteith’s Brewing Company began in the mid-1800s when a gold rush drew 30,000 adventurers to the rugged West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand. Prospectors always welcomed a satisfying beer at the end of a hard day. From humble origins in 1868, the Monteith’s family-owned Phoenix Brewery became the West Coast’s most popular brewer for its strong tasting, full-bodied ale. The Phoenix Brewery later merged with a group of small breweries to form the Westland Brewing Company, predecessor to today’s Monteith’s Brewing Company. Our livelihood depends on making great beer, so we take our time crafting every single batch. Due to it’s popularity and volumes, Monteiths is now brewed in three breweries across New Zealand.
